Harry Potter Warner Bros Studio

Visit was on 4 Sept 2025, weather was gorgeous at about 19C or so.

How to get there by train

It‘s actually quite easy to navigate to the nearest train station there (Watford Junction), and get a shuttle bus (which you will not overlook) to the studio. You can find out more on how to get there on their website.

Duration of visit

The whole tour took us about 5hours. We went in around 2pm, and came out at 7pm or so. And we didn't spend much time at the cafe.

What to expect

If you are a fan of the book, this tour should delight you as it realises your imagination, bringing what you may have envision to life. If you are a fan of the movie, this will give you a look into the BTS of the movie, providing a perspective of nearly all parts of the production, from the actors, to the prop makers, to the animators. The only missing part might be the music backing this magical franchise, which I would have loved to learn about as well.

The flow of the scenes started with a Hogwart's Dining Hall. Then into Hogwart's classes, dormitories, and staff rooms, Hagrid's hut included. In the hanger-size studio, there's also scenes from the ground floor of the Wesley's house, parts of the Ministry of Magic, and into the Forbidden Forest. Then we came into Platform 9 3/4.

Do keep a lookout for interactive elements, which may win you prizes from an Interactor (studio staff)

After that, as if it was timed and intentionally designed (of course it was), it was butter beer time at the cafe! It was some outdoors movie scenes right outside the cafe, including Privet Drive, the Herbology Class greenhouse, and a miniature of the Burrow. Then we're back indoors again, into the Gringott's Bank, and Diagon Alley. The whole tour will be nearing the end when you get to the Hogwart's ground model, which was jaw-dropping-detailed!

Please remember to wash your tankards at the sink at bring it home, they are called sourvenir tankards for a reason~ Don't be silly like us and left ours on our tray.

When we were there, there was a Triwizard Tournament theme going on. Extra performances, displays, and interactivity came with that. We managed to catch the entrance gimmick of the Durmstrang boys and the Beauxbatons girls! And we got to see how they brought the fire-breathing Dragons to life too! So different seasons will bring different campaigns, and with it, different merchandises (next one was Dementors if you noticed at the shuttle bus stop) wink.

Butter beer in souvenir tankards!

Damage to purse

As mentioned, I believe additional merchandises were based on seasonal themes that might be running. With the Triwizard theme, there were special merch as well. We spent about 87 pounds at the studio (on butterbeers, snacks, and at the gift shop), and another 10 quid on a cab back to the train station as the queue for the shuttle looked like a looong wait. Ticket was worth 56 quid per person (in 2025).

Yes, I bought a wand. How could I not.
